Sales Engineer (San Mateo, CA)

Job Description

As a Sales Engineer, you will actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical adviser and product advocate. You will become an expert in the SkyGiraffe platform and demonstrate the value to prospects and customers via building applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Join and lead prospect demos and technical trainings
  • Build and own applications that illustrate the power of the SkyGiraffe platform
  • Craft and deliver dynamic product demonstrations
  • Interact with prospective customers through executive meetings, discovery conversations, solution demonstrations, presentations and follow-up discussions.
  • Spearhead RFP and Security Questionnaire completion
  • Collect, spec, and manage product and engineering requests from Customers and the Sales Team
  • Work with R&D on product enhancement requests and roadmap
  • Translate customer functional requirements into our application; integrate customer systems into our platform; design and build reports.
  • Rapidly learn the mobile industry and best practices
  • Present technical and business aspects of solutions to a C-Level audience.
  • Join and lead prospect demos and technical trainings
  • Prioritize opportunities and applying appropriate resources

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of Sales Engineering or Technical Sales experience working as a sales engineer, technical sales, and technology evangelist
  • BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent
  • Good understanding of enterprise software architecture: security and communication protocols, etc.
  • Experience with most of the following technologies: SOAP or REST based API / Web Services, XML
  • SQL reporting or experience writing SQL queries in MSSQL and/or Oracle
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages (ability to read and understand) specifically C# and .Net, Java and PHP
  • Major bonus: .net programming to include the use of the Common Language Runtime in SQL Server; Internet Information Services (IIS) and how applications securely access SQL Server; SharePoint and how to maintain a healthy SharePoint/SQL Server system;
  • Salesforce.com or other CRM experience a plus
